LEGO have announced details on the next batch of Nintendo-themed LEGO, with six new Mario Kart sets and three new Animal Crossing sets.

While the Mario Kart range of sets are compatible with the electornic LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi and LEGO Peach to provide sound effects, the characters in the new sets are much smaler, using LEGO minifigure bodies with brick-built heads, so I don't think the large Mario figure will be able to use any of the karts. The six sets are as follows:

LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart – Yoshi Bike (72031) 

The perfect build for fans who enjoy drifting between traffic cones or launching shells. Builders ages 7 and up can look forward to a Light-Blue Yoshi toy figure, a shell item, and a brick-built bike in this 133-piece play set.

LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart – Standard Kart (72032)
