EA and Bioware's final instalment in the epic Mass Effect trilogy is making its way to Wii U by the end of the year, and some new details for the port have been revealed.

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U will feature a comprehensive interactive back-story to get those entering the series for the first time up-to-speed on the events of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. You will also be able to make key decisions during this interactive segment, which will determine how exactly the plot plays out in the main game.

During gameplay, the Wii U GamePad will be utilised to display a map, whilst the touchscreen can also act as a method to quickly controlling your characters' unique attributes. Also, a new video interview from GotGame reveals an 'Off TV Play' mode which lets you play the whole game just on the GamePad with a swift press of a button.

The Wii U version will also include the online multiplayer mode.

EA has confirmed that Mass Effect 3 on Wii U will be available on the console's launch day.
