New on Nintendo (week 8)

Retro is hot, if we look at some of this weeks releases. Not only do we find a reference to the (who can even play these things nowadays?) VHS, but there are also some real nostalgia feels on the way. But more on that later, let's start with the WiiU offerings for this week.
There are a couple of low-budget eShop titles up this week, such as 6180 the moon, a black and white platformer which finally found its way to the WiiU. SMART Adventures Mission Math: Sabotage at the Space Station picks your (or more likely your kid's) brain and Defense Dome provides some 90s style arcade shooting. Inside My Radio is a twist on rhythm games, as it lets you change the soundtrack by your playstyle. Finally, the platformer REPLAY: VHS is Not Dead makes you bend time in order to create a perfect movie take.
On the Nintendo 3DS we also get a couple of gems. Rising Star's Sadame is an action-RPG with four different characters, with different playstyles and stories. Excave III: Tower of Destiny is a classic dungeon-crawler with randomised dungeons. Toy Defence is a tower defence game with, you guessed it, toys.
The "big" releases of this week are Bravely Second: End Layer and Mega Man Legacy Collection. MMLC gives us the NES era Mega Man games (1 through 6), with additional Challenges and a ton of collectibles. Chances are that you have already played one or all games in this series on your classic Nintendo Entertainment System or on the Virtual Console. But even then, this game is a steal for €14,99 (£11.99). The only risk is throwing your 3DS out of the window out of sheer frustration, because these games are HARD.
BS:EL takes place two and a half years after Bravely Default, and uses the same battle system. But that is not a bad thing of course. Be sure to also check out the free demo, as it is a prequel to the full game. Get ready to get sucked into this great RPG.
And finally a quick mention of maybe the biggest Virtual Console release ever (besides Mother 3). The three classic Pokémon games Red, Blue and Yellow Version are releasing this week. With support for local battling and trading through wireless connection, get ready to catch the first 150 (151?) Pokémon.
With a nice list to choose from, we at N-Europe wish you a great week in gaming!
