Luigi is finally making his way to Wii U and after the success of his 3DS outing, Luigi's Mansion 2, we're more than a little excited.

New Super Luigi U see's the lanky brother push Mario aside and embark on his own 2D adventure. The title can be downloaded as DLC for New Super Mario Bros U from June 20th on Nintendo eShop. 

That's not all though, seeing as it is the year of Luigi, if you wish to own Luigi U but don't want to have to buy New Super Mario Bros U to download it then Nintendo have a solution! A retail version of the title will be released on July 26th for a limited time. 

As well as all the new levels, you can now play as Nabbit. Nabbit can't use special abilities (like the famous mushrooms) but he doesn't get hurt when hit by an enemy, making him a great character for new players.

You can only play as Nabbit in multiplayer mode. So, are you excited for New Super Luigi U? After seeing that box art, we can't wait.
