Nintendo has offered the first glimpse of the extra levels for New Super Mario Bros. 2 that will be made available as downloadable content.

The first batch of DLC will offer brand new Coin Rush levels. It will be split into three packs, with each pack containing three new Coin Rush stages. Each pack will be available to download for 200 yen - around $2. The first pack will be released in Japan in early October.

You can take a look at the new levels, which include some devilishly difficult ones, in a recent Japanese Nintendo Direct.

No word as of yet on a European release for the DLC, but we'll keep you posted.
