News: 200,000 3DS Units Sold in First Full Week

The 3DS sold 209,623 units during its first full week on sale in Japan.

Official Japanese sales figures for last week have been released and the 3DS continues its successful launch with a strong opening week. While the 3DS featured in the previous week's chart it had only been released for two days at the time and sold 374,764 unis. However, the console shows no signs of slowing down and sold 209,623 units during its first full week of sales.

Gamesindustry report that Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle was once again the top selling 3DS title, outperforming Nintendogs + cats and Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, which came second and third.

The DS and Wii saw a small drop in sales, with the DS down to 17,096 units and the Wii down to 11,654 units.
