News: 'Wii-Proof' TV From Panasonic

Interested in a flat-screen television guaranteed against damage done by your favourite motion-sensing console? Details inside...

For those who haven't yet sent off for their Wii Remote Jackets (which offer all the protection you really need, to be fair) or for those who can't work the Wiimote's wrist-strap, Panasonic claims to have a solution.

The television maker is boasting that their new model of television has a screen that comes coated in a special transparent spray able to absorb up to four Joules of kinetic energy - which we're told is more than enough to stop the average low-flying Wii-mote without any damage.

Whether this new sales tactic will actually sell, we can't comment. Cynical marketing ploy or clever sales plan? You decide...
