News: 3D Video Recording Confirmed for 3DS

Satoru Iwata has finally confirmed the ability to shoot 3D videos on the handheld...

The just-finished pre-recorded conference presented by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed the long-rumoured 3D video recording feature for 3DS.

The feature, which will be integrated into the 3DS camera application, allows users to record 3D videos of up to ten minutes using the outer two cameras on the system. A number of recording options can be utilised: one non-traditional example shown off was 'interval' recording, letting the user record stop-motion 3D videos.

Japanese publication Nikkei had previously reported that users would also be able to upload their 3D videos onto services like YouTube, but it didn't seem this particular point was touched upon during the conference.

The feature will be released with the 3DS' 'late November' firmware update.
