Don't get too comfortable with the 3DS - it may only be a temporary name for Nintendo's upcoming 3D handheld...

More news continue to filter out from Nintendo's recent financial briefing in Japan, where company President Satoru Iwata has confirmed news that may surprise some. For anyone thinking the "Nintendo 3DS" moniker was confirmed, apparently that is not the case.

Asked whether the name will be kept for the product's official unveiling and release, Iwata stated: "Since we've stated that it will go on sale during the present term, I think the formal name will be made public in the not so distant future."
