Like the Nintendo Channel... only more 'stuff'!
At Iwata's GDC keynote, Nintendo of America COO Reggie Fils-Aime took the opportunity to shed some light on the on-demand video service that the 3DS will be offering in the future.
Fils-Aime likened the "short-form video-service" to the Wii's Nintendo Channel - which offers video game trailers and release information - but made it clear that other media will be catered for as well. Reggie wasn't too specific about what kind of content will be on offer, but he did state that comedy shorts and music videos are planned.
Perhaps more tantalizingly, ventures with Hollywood studios are on the cards, with 3D trailers for the latest blockbusters to be offered for free, with a 3D trailer for Warner Bros' Green Lantern touted for download before the film's release.
UK-based consumers have already been promised brand new (and free) shorts of Aardman's hit show Shaun The Sheep for the service. All content that will be made available will be curated by Nintendo.
The service is set to make its debut with the 3DS' May system update.
