Nintendo has announced the shipping details of the 3DS and in the next few months four million units will be shipped out.

After the 3DS was shown at E3 last summer many people expected the console to be released in time for Christmas. When Nintendo announced this would not be the case a few months ago it was suggested that they simply did not enough units to ship. With the release in the next few months Nintendo has announced exactly how many units will be shipped.

There will be four million 3DS units shipped across the world before the end of March. In Japan, where the 3DS is due out on February 26th, 1.5 million units will be shipped. While Nintendo has not announced region-specific plans for other territories the remaining 2.5 million units not going to Japan will be spread amongst these other territories.
