More DS Lite's are being prepped for the handheld hungry Japanese...

As we have previously reported, Nintendo have been desperate to sort out the DS Lite shortage situation in Japan, which has seen massive queues for the few available units due to unexpected levels of demand.

550,000 units have been produced this month, up from the original projection of 450,000, with a further 700,000 to follow in April. With the demand beginning to come under control in Japan, Nintendo can now look towards releasing the handheld in other territories.

Current rumours place the American launch in late Spring, with a Summer launch for Europe. We'll keep you posted.
