Nintendo have partnered up with Wallace & Gromit creators Aardman to create 12 exclusive Flipnote Studio animations for the DSi!

Since its release in Europe in mid-August, Flipnote Studio has opened up a realm of possibilities to DSi owners, and we're still fascinated by the quality of animations that users have been pumping out on a regular basis.

In a rather brilliant marketing move for the free app, Nintendo have announced that they have formed an exclusive partnership with Aardman Studios, the creators of Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Creature Comforts, which will see animator Tim Ruffle producing 12 original Flipnote Studio animations in the run-up to Christmas.

The first of Tim's animations, 'The Sandwich Twins', will hit Flipnote Hatena on the 16th of September, with one presumably following every week up until Christmas.

"I had a lot of fun making these," said Tim Ruffle in regards to the announcement. "Flipnote is so simple to use that it's easy to make short, fun animations � but there's a surprising amount of features there too, meaning you can make your creations more complex as your confidence grows. Budding animators will find this a great way to get creative!"

Aardman have over 400 international awards to their name, including 4 prestigious Academy Awards. We can't wait to see what the brains behind some of the best animations of our time have to offer on our favourite little handheld...

Flipnote Studio is available to download for free from the DSi Shop now, exclusively for the Nintendo DSi.
