Activision has announced today the third instalment in the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3 will be co-published by Activision Value Publishing and Krome Studios, and is scheduled for release in Fall 2005 for GameCube, GameBoy Advance, PS2 and Xbox.

Robert Walsh, CEO of Krome Studios, Australia’s biggest games studio, said that, "We are pleased to have found such a fantastic and enthusiastic partner in Activision… Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series is a well-known and loved property so having their support and prowess will help to further champion and heighten the awareness of our yellow furry hero in the marketplace."

The press release for Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3 has indicated that the game will be set in the Australian outback, with Ty and his allies pitted against “an otherworldly invasion by an ancient evil”. Multiplayer support is promised, as are new enemies and weapons – including Ty’s boomerangs.

The first look at the new Ty will be at E3 next week, so expect fresh details then!
