After recent success Activision is already planning new games in their most popular franchises.
Ron Doornink, CEO of Activision, recently spoke to analysts about Activision. As well as announced a phenomenal success for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2005 he announced that they are planning "sequels to True Crime, Call of Duty, Spider-Man, Tony Hawk, Shrek, and Quake.".
While no more details on these titles were announced, including consoles, he did announce that Activision will be "committed at launch to next-generation consoles.".
Doornink did state that Activision are determined to compete with Electronic Arts, who are constantly selling titles by the millions.
Activision have more then just sequels planned though. With the recent trend of films being made of comic books many Hollywood studios are planning to bring spandex wearing heroes to the big screen. As usual games companies are making games for these films as well, with Activision planning Fantastic Four and Iron Man titles. As well as this they are planning to create a game for the upcoming film Madagascar.
As well as all this Activision announced that Neversoft, the company who created Tony Hawk, are working on a new game. The new title however will not be a sports title.
"We are very excited about Neversoft's new game, which is not a sports title, and will continue expanding the studio's development resources," stated Ron Doornink. "Neversoft is one of the industry's premier development studios and among a handful of developers worldwide with a consistent track record of success. To date, the Tony Hawk games have sold in excess of $800 million over the life of the franchise. Since 1999, Neversoft has developed six games in the action-sports and action-adventure genres, each of which have been critically acclaimed, multi-million-unit selling titles."
Update
It has recently been confirmed that Activision are also working on a game based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series, as well as a game based on the upcoming third film. The Ultimate Spider-Man title should be out in 2005 while another Spider-Man game, titled Spider-Man Classic is due out in between Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3.
