News: Activision & Vivendi Merge

Coming 2008: Tony Hawk's World of Warcraft.
Okay, we joked about that one. But this surprise merger will see Activision (think Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Tony Hawk's, Spider-man, X-men, Shrek, and the current holders of the James Bond licence) become one with Vivendi's games division, (think Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Blizzard's World of Warcraft, Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo).
The newly titled Activision Blizzard expects to have "the most diversified and broadest portfolio of interactive entertainment assets in its industry, positioning the combined company to capitalise on the continued worldwide growth in interactive entertainment."
All we've heard about this so far is unilluminating corporate speak, and we'll be keeping an eye beyond that as to what's physically going to be changing - and in the pipeline. Stay tuned.
