Kids, teenagers and man-children alike are united in celebration this weekend with the confirmation of a video game based on the popular Cartoon Network series Adventure Time.

The news was broken on Twitter by the series' creator Pendleton Ward. Nothing is known about what form the game will take, but Ward was chuffed to reveal that he'll be developing the game for Nintendo DS with WayForward Technologies.

The studio has developed such 2D gems as A Boy and His Blob and Mighty Switch Force. Their most recent venture on DS was the superb Aliens: Infestation.

Adventure Time is set to release later this year.
