July 2003 we reported that Alien Hominid would hit the GameCube. This month it was announced that publisher O~3 Entertainment picked up the rights to release it in the USA. Along with the announcement new media was released.

Alien Hominid is an evolution of classic 2D side-scrolling platform shooters, blending old school play mechanics with hand drawn graphics. It kinda reminds us of Capcom's Viewtiful Joe!

Born on the internet in 2002, a prototype version of Alien Hominid has become one of the most downloaded games of all time, with over six million downloads.

"We were immediately attracted to this game after seeing the prototype on the web," commented Bill Gardner, CEO of O~3. "There's a good reason why this game has over six million downloads � it's truly original and addictive."

The game is now slated for a release on Thanksgiving in the USA. A European publisher is still to be found for this title. Let's cross our fingers and hope that they find one!
