Looks like the wait continues to see the Wii U controller in prime, alien-detecting action...

Some sad news today as Sega representatives (via Nintendo World Report) confirm that the Wii U version of Gearbox Software's Aliens: Colonial Marines will not be making a public appearance at E3 next month.

With the game having previously been delayed into 2013 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the news virtually puts to rest fanciful speculation that the Wii U version would be revealed as a surprise timed exclusive for launch. Sega's official line remains that the Wii U version's release date will be announced at a later time.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has emerged as one of the key third party Wii U games following the developer's enthusiasm for the system. Gearbox's Randy Pitchford recently appeared genuinely enthused at the console's capabilities and the potential of the controller.
