Save the cheerleader, save the Wii.
THQ have today announced that they'll be bringing a new IP to the Wii and DS this autumn in the form of All-Star Cheer Squad, the 'world's first' cheerleading game (have these people never heard of Ouendan?).
All-Star Cheer Squad is a game developed with girls in mind, and it sees you following a year in the life of a cheerleader as they learn new cheers, practise routines and eventually become the captain of a peppy bunch of pom-pom flailing rascals.
The Wii Remote and Nunchuk will be used to execute devestating atta- erm... cheers, and All-Star Cheer Squad also features compatibility with Wii Fit's Balance Board, allowing players to move their whole body rather than just their hands.
Tony Gonzales, a world-renowned cheerleading choreographer best known for his work on the Bring It On movies, has also signed on as the chief consultant for the game to ensure the cheers and moves are all up to scratch.
Readers, we're taking bets. What's the likelihood of us seeing the release of useless pom-pom peripherals to attach to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk?
