Rockstar remains deadly silent on the title...
Rockstar Games caused quite the expected buzz when it announced Grand Theft Auto V last year, and while it was anticipated on current-gen consoles this year, one leading analyst group has suggested that a later release and a Wii U version may be in order.
Firm Sterne Agee has revised its previous expectations for Grand Theft Auto V and said it expects the game to release in the first quarter of 2013, rather than at the end of 2012. Analyst Arvind Bhatia has cited two main reasons for the shift: extra development time to polish up the game, and a potential launch on Nintendo's Wii U system.
It has been well documented that Nintendo of America has long made efforts to secure Grand Theft Auto for release on its systems. In 2009, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was released on DS, but the main series has always eluded Nintendo's home consoles.
A Wii U version of Grand Theft Auto V would chime with early (and fairly unsubstantiated) rumours that Rockstar was one of the first studios to receive dev kits for 'Project Café', as the new system was known then.
