News: And Yet More DSi Titbits!

SDHC & WPA support, battery life details, plus the DSi's development codename - all revealed inside!

With the release of the DSi just days away in Japan, more information has leaked out about the system. The latest update of the DS, this third-gen version will now support SD cards - including SDHC (SD High Capacity - which the Wii does not). The DSi can also support WPA, which will be used in the built-in Opera web browser.

The battery life differs greatly depending on which brightness setting you have the system set to, with 3-4 hours for the brightest, and then increasing through the other dimmer settings from 4-6 hours, 6-9 hours, 8-12 hours to 9-14 hours.

Finally, it's cool to note that the system has the manufacturing code TWL-001, standing for Twilight - the system's development codename (think REV - Revolution for the Wii, and DOL - Dolphin for the GameCube).

No doubt we'll be hearing still more as the system gets even closer to release. Stay tuned.
