The DS incarnation of Animal Crossing has broken the three million units sold mark world-wide, and a film version has been announced!

As of May 5th, the hugely successful Animal Crossing: Wild World has shipped more than three million copies - and that's only in Japan. At the same time, Nintendo have announced that they are to produce an anime film based on the title!

The currently untitled movie is expected to release in Japan this December with Japanese director Jouji Shimura on board for directing the project. The game's staff are liasing with the movie makers so that the film retains the game's themes.
