High Voltage Software's comedy slash 'em up Animales de la Muerte is apparently too large for WiiWare, but a retail release is planned...

After experiencing something of a long vacation since its announcement, High Voltage's bizarre action game Animales de la Muerte has cropped up again, with news that it's too large for Nintendo's downloadable service.

According to High Voltage's Eric Nofsinger, Muerte is officially on hold for the time being after it was discovered that the focus on audio meant it would not fit on WiiWare with Nintendo's file size limits. The game was originally announced as a WiiWare exclusive last year.

Now, the Animales de la Muerte will be made as if it were a retail title, and if finished, will ship on disc. It was not specified whether this means it will remain a Wii exclusive or not.
