News: Anouma Talks Twilight Princess

Head honcho of the Zelda series Eiji Anouma has re-affirmed Twilight Princess will feature 100+ hours of gameplay! More inside...

Anouma has been interviewed by gaming site HM-Fusion, and said some interesting things regarding the much anticipated upcoming title. Unsuprisingly, he was asked about Revolution controller support, and commented that the game would be "utilising the Revolution hardware although not in a way many will expect."

Of great excitement to many Nintendo fans will be that Anouma said that though gameplay time would depend on the individual player, he estimated those who thoroughly explore the world would indeed experience 100 hours of gameplay! Bliss. most will like to explore the world thoroughly, therefore 100 hours would seem correct.

He said there would be more dungeons than in any previous Zelda game, saying he and Shigeru Miyamoto were working hard to create "some unique and surprising dungeons to play through". Contrary to previous games where dungeons were based on the elements (fire, wind, water etc.), he confirmed that as these were getting old the new dungeons would be based around animals - as seen in the videos at E3 last year.

Anouma refused to say if gamers would meet characters they were already familiar with from previous Zelda titles, but said that some would be familiar, and that "some may return but have a different appearance." And what about the Zoras? "Would it be a Zelda game without the Zoras?" he replied.

Confirming there would be extras for "dedicated players to unlock", he also mentioned that he and Nintendo president Satoru Iwata were keen for the game to launch with a second disc of bonuses, though this has yet to be confirmed. Exciting stuff indeed. Expect more info to hit over the next few days as the rest of the interview is uploaded. To read it in full, click here!
