Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse didn't die after all, makes sense as they are immortal.
Last year Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse looked like a promising title, allowing players to participate in an apocalypse without dying. After 3DO disbanded the fate of the game was left up in the air, but now it is back down to earth thanks to "Four Horsemen Entertainment L.L.C.".
"Four Horsemen Entertainment L.L.C." was founded by a number of investors to purchase this title, so their interest in the title is high.
Michael Mendheim, the creator and development director of Four Horsemen at 3DO, has confirmed that along with a game the title will become a franchise, with a graphic novel and comics due. However they are a few years off, as the game is due for next-generation consoles at present.
The game is currently being worked on by a lot of people who were working on the original title, which is a promising thing. Simon Bisley will be providing the artwork for the title, which so far looks great. Stan Winston, a big name in the Hollywood effects circle, will be handling the toy and movie rights.
As well as big names behind the scenes the company is going all out to ensure the original voice actors return. Tim Curry will be providing the voice of Satan while Traci Lords will be voicing Pestilence.
While not much is known on the revamped title it has been announced that as well as horseback battles players will be able to participate in epic multiplayer games. During the multiplayer games you will take the role of one of the horsemen and participate in battles between angels and demons.
"The Four Horsemen concept is cool because it is based on the most popular book in history, the Bible," Mendheim continued, with a rather bleak prediction. "Our fear factor isn't about zombies walking around. It's about plagues and torment. It's scary because of the realism. Everyday, people see and read about miracles happening, plagues, the devastation of famine or even a statue bleeding. Our concept is scary, because it just might be true."
