Nintendo Co. Ltd. in Japan today issued an official apology to Japanese consumers who may have found themselves deprived of Game Boy Advance SPs on the occasion of the new handheld's release last week.

The company delivered assurances that it is stepping up its production and shipping efforts, substituting air delivery for sea shipments, and attempting to make sure retailers receive their full orders soon.
