News: AQ Announce Revolution & DS Support

New Japanese publisher AQ is to develop new games for both the Nintendo DS and Revolution! Find out more inside...

AQ (whose name stands for Artistic Quality, if you were wondering) held a press conference yesterday to fomrally introduce itself as a publisher in the gaming market. It first opened in October this year as a publisher for development studios Artoon (known for Blinx and currently working with Mistwalker on Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360), Feel Plus (doing the same with Lost Odyssey) and Cavia (responsible for Drakengard). AQ also released on of the Japanese Xbox 360 launch titles, Tetris: the Grand Master Ace.

Between the three studios, as many as 350 staffers are apparently working on games - with several titles for the Xbox 360 and PSP already underway. But yesterday, the company announced that it will be developing new projects solely under the AQ publishing brand - and among the new titles are listed two new projects for the DS - an adventure game and an education title.

Most interestingly however, the Revolution is also listed as getting two new titles, making AQ one of the first third-parties to commit themselves to the console. An original action title and a game based off a major comic license will be developed, though more details on the titles weren't available.

A raft of other titles for the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 were all unveiled, but we won't bore you with them. It's safe to say though, that this is a development studio you'll be hearing a lot more about in the future.
