Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles

News: Assassin's Creed DS Dated & Details

The beans are spilt on Altair's Chronicles.

Those of you following N-Europe's news regularly (and if not, why not?) will be aware that the prequel to Ubisoft's Xbox 360 and PS3 Christmas Blockbuster Assassin's Creed is sneaking it's way on to the DS. Today, various details have come to light, including that all important release date.

Originally set for a February release, you'll now have to wait another month, at least in the US, before you can start slicing jugulars whilst on the train (so to speak). As well as stabbing high-profile targets, pesky inquisitive guards, and the odd leper with new touch-screen controls, you'll also be able to perform much of the console version's free running antics across roof tops of the "fully 3D-rendered medieval world", presumably (but unconfirmed) the three cities featured in the original: Damascus, Acre, and Jerusalem.

The infamous pickpocketing and interrogation pieces of the game return, but are you guessed it handily touch-screen controlled. The game's developers, Gameloft, were responsible for the hidden gem Brothers In Arms DS, so this is one title to keep an eye on during the drizzly Q1 months. Just stay tuned to N-Europe for the latest on Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles.
