D3Publisher have confirmed that they will release a video game tie-in to next year's silver screen anime legend, Astro Boy.

In the 50's, one Osamu Tezuka created a robotic child that would rocket him into animated stardom. Astro Boy and his adventures spanned across three smash-hit anime series that have aired across the world, earning Tezuka-san the title of "God of manga". Hollywood have jumped on the bandwagon, and are producing a feature length film of the franchise.

And now it's been announced D3Publisher will bring out video game versions of the aforementioned movie, which stars talent such as Bill Nighy, Eugene Levy and Donald Sutherland. Gamers will no doubt have nothing but fond memories of Astro Boy: Omega Factor, the critically acclaimed Game Boy Advance shooter by Treasure. No specific platforms of this game have been named.

Its release will coincide with the movie next October
