Atari to release a WiiFit rival with its own mat controller in September.

WiiFit has been a success. That's already a given; it's doing quite well for itself worldwide, and has since seen several other announcements from various publishers that will be creating games to utilise the balance board, such as Skate It and Family Ski. What was perhaps a little less predictable was publishers announcing their own spin-offs of it. Atari has done just that with Family Trainer!

Instead of using the balance board provided with the aforementioned WiiFit, Family Trainer has its own Dance Dance Revolution-style mat controller that 'gets the feet involved too for total body gameplay'. The activities in the game will include log jumping, skipping and water rafting. Also like WiiFit, Family Trainer lets players keep track of their progress. Expect more news before its September release�
