News: Augmented Reality Game 'The Hidden' Revealed

Majesco Entertainment has announced a new augmented reality game called The Hidden.

The Nintendo 3DS' augmented reality function is one of the newly-released console's most exciting and it seems developers are beginning to experiment with it. Majesco Entertainment has announced a brand new game that uses augmented reality to hunt ghosts in the real world.

The Hidden is due to be released in October in North America and you take on the role of a supernatural detective who must hunt down ghosts. Not only will you be able to hunt, capture and destroy supernatural entities in the real world but the game will also encourage you to unlock other ghosts and reveal the full story by travelling to new locations and playing in them.

The title is controlled using the Circle Pad and the inbuilt gyroscope and will keep a log of where you have hunted ghosts using the Location History feature. We'll keep you updated with news as it develops.

"The Hidden is a great example of exciting content mixed with compelling technological innovation on the Nintendo 3DS. This immersive experience leverages many key features of the new system including the camera, gyroscope and Wi-Fi capability to deliver a rich 3D adventure with multiple layers."
Jesse Sutton, Chief Executive Officer, Majesco Entertainment.
