Nintendo have just announced the launch of the Wii in Australian territories, where it will arrive on December 7th, priced AU$399.95. This translates to �237, �159, or US$300. In the box will be one Wii-mote and Nunchuk along with the WiiSports compilation of games (which America got packed-in but Japan didn't).

During December and until the end of the year, around 20 software titles will be made available. A list of Virtual Console games and their pricing will be revealed in the coming weeks.

With Australia getting the Wii this year and with WiiSports packed-in, its likely us Europeans will hopefully get a similar deal. Fingers crossed.
