Axl Rose, of Guns 'N Roses, is suing Activision for allegedly going against their agreement not to include former guitarist Slash in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
Activision Blizzard were the unfortunate recipients of a lawsuit today from Guns 'N Roses front man Axl Rose. Rose claims that the company violated their deal that they would not include former guitarist Saul Hudson (a.k.a. Slash) in their song "Welcome to the Jungle" on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
The lawsuit, worth $20 million according to Reuters, claims that Activision Blizzard fraudulently convinced Rose into agreeing by offering to not include Slash. Furthermore, Rose and Activision Blizzard allegedly agreed not to include any references to Slash's new band Velvet Revolver but the band's songs were included and a depiction of the iconic guitarist was featured on the game's cover.
In addition to this the lawsuit states that the song Sweet Child 'O Mine was used in an online promotion for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock when it was only licensed for Guitar Hero II. Activision has yet to respond to this lawsuit but stay tuned for the latest news.
