Bandai Co. have confirmed that they are developing a number of titles for the Nintendo GameCube. The software is set for release in November in Japan, with Nintendo holding the publishing rights.
Bandai are the entertainment company behind big names such as Power Rangers, Gundam and Digimon. They are also responsible for the Tamagotchi virtual-pet craze of the late nineties and the Japan-only Wonderswan console.
Bandai's announcement is potentially fantastic. The Gundam franchise is very popular in the Far East and could eventually make an appearance on the Cube. However, industry rumblings suggest that a Power Rangers game could be the first mystery title in development. This is not the first time Bandai have made an appearance on a Nintendo console, with the ill-conceived Tamagotchi World 64 being an example.
More updates when further developments arise.
