Rumours are confirmed as Llewelyn announces her exit from Nintendo of America.
Senior director of corporate communications Beth Llewelyn has confirmed she is leaving Nintendo after twelve years. The news comes after we reported last month on the departure of fellow Nintendo of America exec George Harrison.
There have been persistent rumours for several months now that Nintendo are losing three of their big names (and up to 60% of their employees) when they shift their Sales and Marketing division from its long-time home in Redmond to New York and San Francisco.
Months ago, it was rumoured that Harrison, Llewelyn and Perrin Kaplan (VP of Marketing & Corporate Affairs) would all have to leave the company due to the move. With Llewelyn's exit now confirmed, it adds credence to Kaplan leaving also.
Llewelyn commented on her departure:
"After nearly 12 years with Nintendo, I will be leaving the company at the end of this week. I am not relocating to the Bay Area with the company. It was a very tough decision, but ultimately my family and I decided it wasn't the right move for us. My last day at Nintendo is Friday, Sept. 28."
N-Europe wishes her the very best for the future.
