News: Big Profits For Square-Enix

Big hitters in 2004 racked up great sales for the Japanese publisher. Wonder how much of that was from Crystal Chronicles?

Just in case you were getting bored we've another set of financial numbers for you; this time it's Square-Enix's. From the start of the latest fiscal year (last March) until the end of 2004 the company reported sales of 60.93 billion yen ($591.44 million), up from 40.71 billion yen ($395.17 million) of the same period last year.

This rise in games sales pushed profits up from 10.99 billion yen ($106.68 million) to 13.30 billion yen ($129.10 million), a sizable increase. The favourable performance is largely down to bankable franchises, including the new Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts and Star Ocean games.

We're sure Crystal Chronicles helped anyway.
