Eidos have announced that Blastworks: Build, Trade, Destroy is officially available on shelves. Celebrate with new screenshots!

The long wait for the little-known gem is finally over. Blastworks released on Wii several months ago in the US to a string of positive reviews, yet remains one of the least-heard-of games in the system's library.

Now, UK gamers can get their fill of customisable chaos as Eido Interactive have stepped up to the publishing plate. Budcat Creations' geometry-based shoot 'em up has players blasting through a wave of unique enemies, but the twist is that you're encouraged to craftily pick up their debris in order to enhance your own ship.

Blastworks also offeres so much more than an innovative gameplay mechanic. If you're hooked up to WiiConnect24 you share all your homemade ships, levels and bosses with the rest of the world. The fact that everything down to sound effects and bullet patterns is tweakable makes this one the most in-depth gems on Wii.

Given how little publicity this game has received, some gamers may not find it in every game store. We certainly reccomend keeping an eye peeled - be sure to comment below if you happen to spot Blastworks in the wild!
