With de Blob 2 ready to paint the town all colours the game's brand manager has spoken out about what fans can expect.
The original de Blob was loved by fans but unfortunately didn't sell many copies. However, THQ still gave Blue Tongue the go ahead to create a sequel and that sequel, de Blob 2, is out on Friday. Gamers will once again paint the world all sorts of colours to help liberate those oppressed by the INKT Corporation and CVG has spoken to brand manager Rick Davis about what gamers can expect.
Mr. Davis states that the decision to release de Blob 2 on all consoles was "less of a focus on platforms and more on how we can take the game to the next level and create that deeper game". The Wii hasn't been forgotten about however, as Blue Tongue has tightened up the game's controls and implemented a new multiplayer mode whereby a second player has a paintball gun and can help Blob earn points.
Blue Tongue has focused their efforts in creating a more expansive experience for gamers with de Blob 2 by introducing new level types, such as ice levels and tropical island levels, new power-ups and changing it so things are unlocked as you progress during the game.
"The environments themselves have also been brought to life, literally everything can be painted; there's trees, grass, cars, hovercars that fly to life when they're painted, as everything is painted back to life it becomes a hustling bustling metropolis or Bio-dome, those are the biggest elements."
de Blob 2 is due out this Friday and it looks set to provide all of the fun of the original with much more, which will hopefully attract new fans too. Let us know whether you plan to pick up the game or not in the comments section below.
