Gamers are going to be able to experience the heritage of their Brawl characters through demos of Virtual Console titles!
In a stunning new update on the Smash Bros. Dojo!! website, it has been revealed that the game contains trial versions of retro titles available on the Virtual Console. Labelled "Masterpieces" mode, gamers will be able to try out a whole roster of titles, including:
- Ice Climber (1986, NES)
- Super Mario Bros. (1987, NES)
- The Legend of Zelda (1987, NES)
- Kid Icarus (1987, NES)
- Kirby's Adventure (1993, NES)
- Super Metroid (1994, Super NES)
- Lylat Wars (1997, Nintendo 64)
- and many more will be unlockable...
You don't have to be connected to the Nintendo WFC to play these games, they're included on the Brawl disc. Games are expected to be kept fairly short via a time limit so (in the words of Masahiro Sakurai) "all you can do is laugh at how hard they are." Nevertheless, some titles have the capability for save data, so it looks like they won't be too insubstantial.
Incredible stuff, stay tuned for what's announced next on Brawl!
