News: Capcom Announce Sales

Capcom have announced their sales for the fiscal year 2002 and GameCube sales were higher than anticipated.

Capcom revealed today that their target of 8,750,000 sales in the year 2002 has unfortunately not been achieved, the company has only sold 6,830,000. The company blame low sales of such titles as Clock Tower 3 and of Devil May Cry 2, the latter in the west, for the bad sales.

Microsoft's Xbox also had a disappointing year, a target of 600,000 sales was set but the machine only managed to sell 280,000.

4,800,000 titles were sold on the Game Boy Advance, however, despite this Capcom have canned 10 titles that were originally planned for this format.

However the GameCube did Nintendo proud, the console was predicted sales of 3,200,000 but sold more, in total 3,230,000 titles were sold.
