Capcom seemingly blames fans for the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3, then says they didn't...
Capcom has seemingly made a statement regarding the cancellation of their 3DS Mega Man Legends 3 project. The game was unique in that much of its development revolved around input from fans. But according to a Capcom Europe tweet, those fans were apparently the reason for the game's cancellation.
"it's a shame the fans didn't want to get more involved :-( if we saw there was an audience for MML3 people might change minds"
Bizarrely, whoever is manning Capcom Europe's Twitter went on to reply to an awful lot of the enraged feedback this statement ignited. Included in Capcom's responses is the claim that the company would "never ever blame [the] fans". Whether that really does square with the tone of the original statement is probably open to interpretation.
Still, this interesting twist looks like its going to prolong the interest in Mega Man Legends 3. If Capcom ever considers reviving the game, this outrage may well work in its favour.
