News: Capcom Not Reviving Mega Man Legends 3

Capcom has confirmed that it will continue development of the 3DS-exclusive Mega Man Legends 3...

Fans rejoice today as N-Europe has learned that Capcom is set to confirm the resumption of development on Mega Man Legends 3.

The game was announced in 2010 as a 3DS-exclusive, where it was also revealed that it would be built largely around fan-input. Last year, Capcom confirmed that the title's production would be halted indefinitely, before it controversially stated "it's a shame the fans didn't want to get more involved".

Now though, it appears the company has had a change of heart, as it has fully resumed development of the game, which is due to be released a year from now. Better still, Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version - a taster version of the full game - is expected to get a "surprise" release on the eShop later today.

It is believed that Capcom decided to continue production of Mega Man Legends 3 after Nintendo released the Circle Pad Pro for 3DS.

Update: As feared, Capcom has decided to halt production on Mega Man Legends 3 indefinitely for the second time. The publisher cited "lack of fan enthusiasm" following the announcement that the game was back on-track earlier today.
