News: Capcom Reducing Nintendo Support

According to Capcom's financial report they plan to lower support for the DS and Wii in the coming year.

Following the end of the fiscal year last month Capcom has compiled and released a report about the company's performance and its plans for the next year. The report indicates that they believe the PS3 will be their biggest seller while they are reducing support for the DS/3DS and Wii.

According to the report in the last fiscal year Capcom has shipped 5 titles for the Wii and these sold 1.4 million units, while they shipped 11 titles for the DS/3DS (although only one of those was for the 3DS, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition) which sold 1.7 million units. In the coming year they intend to ship 2 Wii titles, which they expect to sell 200,000 units, and 9 DS/3DS titles that they anticipate selling 2.4 million units.

In the last fiscal year Capcom has shipped 53 titles across all consoles and sold 20.5 million units and while they expect to ship 55 titles next year they are anticipating a drop in sales to 18 million units.
