No good news for those holding out on a Wii port of Resident Evil 5...

With the GameCube's Resident Evil 4 being ported to the graphically inferior PS2, many are holding out for Capcom to bless the Wii with its own port of Resident Evil 5 - currently exclusive to PS3 and Xbox 360. Alas, we still have no good news.

Asked whether, if the game's online component were removed, Resi 5 might see a release on Wii, producer Jun Takeuchi responded:

"Hmm... honestly speaking, we're kind of pushing the 360 and PS3 to their limits right now, so it would probably be pretty difficult to create a Wii version of RE5.

Not promising at all, really. In our opinion, while Resi 5 does showcase some tasty graphics, there's nothing in there that we've seen that couldn't be converted to a Wii-capable level. Which leaves us pondering... are profit margins more the cause? We'd just like to see the game on Wii to end our wishing and wondering.
