News: Capcom Taking A Back Seat On DSi

Old habits seem to die hard, as Capcom still refuse to pledge initial support for a Nintendo console.
Capcom aren't exactly known to learn from their misopportunites. Much of their DS output consists of GBA ports in the form of the Phoenix Wright series and little else.
We can also picture excutives kicking themselves in regards to the Resident Evil franchise. While Resident Evil 5 still eludes Wii, a port and spin-off have each sold over a million untis on the system in the form of Resi 4 and Umbrella Chronicles. This is something made all the more frustrating when the series producer promised all future installments would appear on Nintendo's system. (Thought we forgot that one, eh Capcom?)
And yet, it seems the Japanese behemoth is in no hurry to potentially avoid past mistakes once again. Despite the brand new DSi console having sold close to 500,000 units in Japan after being on sale for 3 weeks, Capcom is clearly waiting and seeing for the third time running, as stated by company president Haruhiro Tsujimoto:
"As the Nintendo DSi was just released recently, Capcom would like to see the response of users in the future and respond to that. We select the console based on our game concept. Therefore, after analyzing the sales situation and user trends for Nintendo DSi, if we have some contents suitable for the console, we will consider it."
Is it possible that the success of a Nintendo console went over Capcom's heads again? Are Nintendo gamers content Capcom's support in general or not? Sound off below...
