The popular PC freeware title Cave Story, alongside a new title called Boingz, have been confirmed for WiiWare.
Nintendo have announced two new WiiWare titles at their San Francisco Media Summit in the form of Cave Story and Boingz.
Cave Story is a cult PC freeware title which is a hark back to the NES days of platforming games. As young Quote, you must traverse dark, dank caves, jump about and shoot things in order to free a race of rabbits from the clutches of an evil doctor who is searching in vain for a rabbit named Sue. It's much better and deeper than it sounds, and the WiiWare version is set to include lots of new and exclusive content and features. You can download the PC original for free here.
Boingz on the other hand is a completely new title built from the ground up for the service. Developed by NinjaBee (who have already had experience with digital distribution, having developed four Xbox Live Arcade titles, including the extremely well-received Cloning Clyde) and published by RealNetworks, Boingz sees you controlling a cute little race of aliens and using the Wii Remote to pull, stretch and flick them around to solve 30 levels of platforming puzzles.
The future is looking even brighter for the WiiWare service!
