News: Conduit 2 3DS Proof of Concept Demo Details

At GDC High Voltage Software showed off a proof-of-concept version of Conduit 2 on the 3DS.

At last week's Game Developers Conference High Voltage Software demoed a 3DS version of Conduit 2 that they initially discussed last month. At present it is just a proof-of-concept demo as it has not been confirmed whether the title will be released or High Voltage Software just wanted to show off the console's capabilities.

Siliconera had a go on the title and were informed by Eric Stoli, Lead Designer at High Voltage Software, that the title actually uses the same assets as the Wii. The game is controlled using the slide pad to move, touch screen to aim and L to shoot. In the demo the R button was used for reloading and if you swiped on the right side of the screen you would jump.

This version of Conduit 2 offers something that is not available in the Wii version - a third person perspective. Apparently High Voltage Software are exploring a variety of view points and perspectives at present. Siliconera discuss how the 3D effect had the most impact when the depth slider was turned all the way up and only the gun leapt out from the screen.

Whether this proof-of-concept demo will ever become a retail game remains to be seen. It could be that High Voltage Software want to thoroughly test it to ensure it will work as a complete game but stay tuned to N-Europe for more information as it develops.
