Nintendo has released new information about a brand new Kirby title for the DS.

This week has been a good week for Nintendo fans. With a number of release dates announced, most notably The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and news of Solatorobo getting a Western release fans have been treated well. Nintendo has one more trick up their sleeve though; a brand new Kirby title.

1Up is reporting that in the newest issue of Famitsu there is a feature about a previously announced, but not detailed, DS title called Atsumete! Kirby, which roughly translated means 'Gather! Kirby'. The title is due out on the DS at the end of the year in Japan.

Just like Kirby's Epic Yarn on the Wii Atsumete! Kirby provides a twist on the classic Kirby game. Rather than sucking up enemies and absorbing powers you now consume fruit and are joined by a new Kirby. You can control up to ten Kirbys at once in Atsumete! Kirby.

When you tap on the screen a star appears and the Kirbys walk toward that, or run if you double tap, and once they have reached it they latch on. You can then guide your Kirby army through stages using this star and also beat up enemies and bust through blocks. If a Kirby happens to die another one can pick them up before they become an angel.
