News: Cube Suffers From Heatwave

The hottest week in the UK has caused a slowdown in console hardware sales.

All consoles saw their sales numbers go down last week in the UK. Unfortunately, the GameCube took the hardest beating. It was the first time since launch that the GameCube only sold 1.000 units in one week.

The Xbox sold 4.000 units, and PS2 sales went just under the 10.000 units - down 25 per cent on the previous week. Because of the continues success of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the GBA still sold around 16.000 units.

Of course the heat is one of the reasons for the low GameCube sales. However, this summer there have not been a lot of quality titles released, and this has definitely also contributed to the slowdown.

We will keep you posted.
